Young and talented?

During one of my Civic classes with a Form 1 class, I asked my students to envision the future 20 years from now and sketch/ draw what they see their home will turn out then.

So salah satu group ni started almost as soon they got the paper kumpulan ni memang ada pelukis berbakat.. Dalam masa 30 minit lepas diberikan tugasan nih, he had already drawn this...

Lukisan dia dilukis dengan penuh yakin. I watched him draw in class and jarang sekali nampak dia capai pemadam. I was really impressed.. Actually rasa tak sabar nak tengok end result diorang nih... :P

How appropriately true!

From a friend's Wall ...

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as: - Knowing when to come in out of the rain; - Why the early bird gets the worm; ... - Life isn't always fair; - And maybe it was my fault. Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies, don't spend more than you can earn and adults, not children, are in charge. His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition. Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an aspirin to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion. Common Sense lost the will to live as the criminals received better treatment than their victims. Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault. Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement. Common Sense was preceded in death, by his parents, Truth and Trust, by his wife Discretion, his daughter Responsibility, and his son, Reason. He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers - I Know My Rights, I Want It Now, Someone Else Is To Blame and I'm A Victim. Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone.
If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, do nothing.

It's time to rumble...

AUCKLAND : Streets across New Zealand were a blaze of colourful bunting Thursday for what has been billed as a nationwide party in a “stadium of four million” as the Rugby World Cup returns to its spiritual home.

The seventh edition of the sport’s global showpiece kicks off Friday when hosts and tournament favourites New Zealand play Tonga before a crowd of 60,000 at Auckland’s Eden Park.

Alhamdulillah...

We have safely reached KL..ie Shah Alam.. Not yet the end of our destination but close enuf. Kena feed the brood first baru boleh balik. Almaklumla, peti sejuk memang kosong sekosong nye lepas pegi balik beraya. Rasanya takde sape pun yang sengaja stock peti awal2 sebelum raya.. Tak fresh orang kata.. Or just incase rumah takde api.. Haha, preparing for everything.

Okay, nak makan. Then nak isi peti sejuk kat rumah dan stock kan apa2 yang patut for next week. It's time to kungfu hustle again.....

Balik KL

Assalamualaikum.

In fact tahun ni rasanya bilangan kereta atas jalan memang bertambah secara exponential!

Jalan depan rumah mak mertua I nampak congested dari seawal 10 pagi sampai kul 2 pagi.. So tahun ni, at this very moment, @ 4 in the morning, kitorg baru sampai Kuala Krai lepas an hour and a half bertolak dari rumah.

Mengikut bancian statistik tak rasmi, seramai 2 juta rakyat Kelantan balik tiap2 tahun..and dari 2 juta tu rasanya kalau boleh semua nak bawak balik kereta sendiri. Bila tengok laman rumah kat sini musim raya ni, satu rumah mau ada 3 - 4 buah kereta.. Bila time nak beraya masa raya pertama dan kedua, memang bercinta nak gi keluar rumah.. Jadi tak terkejut la kalau time balik kampung and balik KL selalu jadi haru biru.
